Terrorism, Bomb Blast, Vandalism & Smash and Grab - All Security Film CandidatesSafety and security window film is a single or multi-layered polyester film that transforms ordinary window glass into a shield against dangerous flying or falling shards of glass, that can result in death, serious injury and extensive property damage. The thicker multi-layered laminates of clear or tinted films use an adhesive to hold the window glass together, when it is shattered by terrorist bombings, accidental explosions or by forces of nature, thereby greatly reducing the most widespread hazard associated with bomb blasts. This technology is currently in place in many U.S. embassies and high-risk federal buildings, including the U.S. State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C., the White House, the Pentagon and most recently the U.S. Capitol. Installations are planned for many other federal facilities including the Supreme Court. Many private sector facilities also have had safety and security window film installed, including: the John Hancock Tower in Boston; the MetLife Building in New York City; and numerous others, when generally applied to windows after they are installed in a building (retrofit) and can be applied to windows with attachment systems that increase the performance capabilities of the film. Safety and security window film also protects people and property from the sun's damaging effects. This single layer product employs ultra-thin layers of microscopic metals block the sun's heat, ultraviolet radiation and glare, rendering the power of the sun virtually harmless.
Brian's Window Tinting sells films which cover the various needs of the market for different levels of protection. The thickness is the key design feature which separates the basic window film line from the safety and security films. All films are made with layers of polyester film bonded by special adhesives and impregnated with ultraviolet inhibitors. Solar films also contain high performance metals and alloys which enhance their heat rejection properties and making their performance exceptional.
